The Madison Square Garden Company has announced that show is the “unprecedented” 64th consecutive show by Joel, an MSG Franchise and internationally acclaimed, six-time Grammy-winning New Yorker.
The 70th birthday show is part of Joel’s residency at The World’s Most Famous Arena, which started in January 2014 with Joel putting on one show per month at MSG.
The May 2019 show will be Joel’s 11th all-time performance at MSG, the company says.
Joel’s family moved to the Long Island suburb of Hicksville when he was just a year old. He now has two homes on Long Island; one of which he purchased in Centre Island in 2002 for $22 million. The other is located in Sag Harbor.
